Y13 won the extremely biased quiz last night to put the teachers into second place! Then the homework session to get those bits of "trad" education out the way.
Friday
Well here we go again, back on the slopes although with a few aches and pains from earlier in the week. Mrs Spence took her group up through Val Thorens while Miss Snowball's group advanced to Pointe de la Masse. Mr Farley worked with Mrs Olsen's group of Elisha B, Rebecca W, Chelsie G and Danni H on their turns. Everyone has made excellent progress throughout the week and are working towards tomorrows presentations. More photo's to follow...
Lunch was pasta with a carbonara sauce, time to take the boots off for a few minutes and then to head back to the slopes for another 2 hour lesson in the sunshine.
What... it's snowing! Yes, when we got to the top of the mountain it was snowing and much colder than the rest of the week. The light dusting was just enough to make the upper runs even better than this morning. Mr F managed to snap a few shots of three of the groups as they hurtled down the mountain. This resort is so big that once out on the slopes it is impossible to find groups. Tomorrow we are considering going out for the whole morning and having a picnic on the mountain with the whole party together..
Everyone is working so hard we have even had people asleep at the dinner table and almost falling into their lasagne.Thre value of the pound against the euro is showing, almost £3.00 for a glass of coke on the mountain and a posh hot chocolate with cream and sprinkles will set you back almost a fiver!
Rumour has it that the king of snowboarders Tom E had a right wipe out this morning. But as Mr F says "if your not falling your not learning". Mel is learning a lot I hear. I've just looked up and spotted Super Coopers team coming down the mountain, no falls and they are even following each other. In no time they are back on the chair and heading up for another run. Well it's time to head back out to the slopes to take the superkeen for an extra hour.
Miss Snowball crashed out on ice and twisted her knee, she says it's like a melon! Has it gone green or yellow we ask? Ryan R and Mike B used their bums as brakes rather than the snowboard! Steve H & Dom J went down a black run, not sure they meant to as Steve decided to try flying. Jamies H wiped his sister out and sent her 30 feet down the mountain. When you see her ask about her boots! In the jumps competition Ade T was the only one to land cleanly although Mr L said it lacked "mass air", the arguement continues...
Lots of very tired people at the end of the day.
Disco Fever approached and the best frocks came out. Must admit that the 2 Andy's looked really good in theirs. It was Murder on the Dance Floor although some looked a little shocked when the other school arrived. Mrs S said it was hot and noisy, a bit like teaching 8C on a summers day!
And now one last day of skiing.
Don't worry mums we will remind them about Mothers Day at tomorrows meeting.
